There is nothing more soothing at the end of a long day than
relaxing to the sound of a guitar. Many feel that learning to
play the guitar is difficult and not worth the frustration to
even try. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Learning to
play the guitar is as easy as learning the chords. Once the
chords are learned, there are no melodies that cannot be
strummed out. Whether it is classical or folk music, pop or rock, any tune can
be played once the basic chords are learned. It is relaxing to
listen to the guitar; it is rewarding to play one. Once you
learn the basic chords, you can experiment with different chords
to try and play your favorite songs. It is an exhilarating
feeling when after practicing for months; you have finally
learned to play an entire song. There is a specific way to sit when you play the guitar. Sitting
on an armless chair will give your arms and hands the freedom of
motion that you will need to both strum the guitar and change
chords. It may not seem like a big deal at first, but as you
play more and more, you will find yourself sitting in this
position. When you hold the guitar, make sure that the body of the guitar
is flat against your body. Most guitars are made for
right-handed people. There are guitars for left handed people,
but they are very expensive. Some experts feel that by string
the guitar the opposite way will turn any guitar into a left
handed guitar. Most guitar players prefer to use what is called a pick. It does
not have the appearance of what it sounds like. It is a small
piece of plastic, ranging in shapes sizes, and thickness. Most
guitar players have several hundred guitar picks but use only a
selected few. A guitar pick creates clear crisp music when used correctly. A
Guitar pick can be found at almost any music or department
store. Today there are many good online tools and videos that
can help you easily learn how to play the guitar. About the author:
