Australian Guitar Website Lowers Prices Rare, Vintage & Collectable Guitars - At Prices You Can Afford
- a novel concept, but that's what justguitars.com.au is
all about - making fine guitars affordable to the Australian
musician. After three decades in the music industry, the folk
behind justguitars.com.au decided it was time to do
something about the often exorbitant prices attached to guitars
bought in Australia, going live online in November of 2005. A quick check around Melbourne and Sydney music stores shows
that many of the justguitars.com.au prices are
substantially lower than either recommended retail or discounted
prices - including brand new models by leading manufacturers,
selling at hundreds of dollars below store prices. There are
also great deals to be had on discontinued and display models of
contemporary guitars. Vintage guitar prices are also well below
what has come to be expected in Australia - an immaculate 1996
Gibson Chet Atkins SST sold for about half of what we estimate
to have been any sort of previously "realistic" price. With the ever-increasing cost of overseas travel, the website
offers an incredibly viable means of owning a top-flight guitar
at a reasonable price. The buyer is "essentially receiving
the exact same guitar we unearthed in a music store in Chicago,
or pawn shop in London, or estate sale in Bendigo, in virtually
the same condition as when we found it." (From the
www.justguitars.com.au `About Us' page) Also offered is a "search" facility - if you can't find a
guitar to suit you on their website, the Just Guitars
people are more than happy to search worldwide until they find
exactly what you're looking for. The site pays particular attention to brands that have
previously been hard to get in Australia - names such as
Harmony, Silvertone, Univox, Eko, Kay, Fernandes, Teisco Del Rey
and Hagstrom were often sold only in the US, Europe or Japan,
and only seen here in photographs or video clips. An artist
desiring one of these rare guitars would have to travel overseas
in search of their dream axe, or perhaps ask a third party to
look for one in their travels - now many of these fine, and
previously unattainable, instruments are available locally - At
Prices You Can Afford! The aim is to make these guitars specifically available to the
local market, therefore justguitars.com.au ships only
within Australia, with courier delivery prices ranging from $20
for mainland capitals to just $40 or $50 for Tasmania and remote
areas. Website: www.justguitars.com.au About the author:
